CAreer Design: 5 Steps to Get unstuck and find your ideal role or new career.

What is Career Design?

You are a smart, accomplished professional but right now you are stuck in a job you don't love and what's worse is that you don't know what you want to do next. Or maybe you do know what you want to do next but your job search strategy isn’t working for you.

Career Design is a holistic job search process that gives you the clarity, strategy, and confidence you need to land your ideal job. It combines the best strategies from personal development, design thinking, networking, and personal branding to create an effective job search solution that helps you:

  • Clarify what you want and what is important to you

  • Identify and overcome fears and limiting beliefs that are holding you back

  • Develop the confidence to go after what you want

  • Build quality relationships with professionals who can help you advance your career

  • Strategically validate various career options so you don’t pick the wrong one

  • Identify your strengths and how to best sell yourself to potential employers

  • Create a compelling personal brand to attract the right kinds of professional opportunities

  • Tailor and update your resume, cover letters, and LinkedIn profile to relevant opportunities

  • Prepare for interviews and salary negotiations by knowing exactly what to say and how to say it

What Results Can You Expect?

  • Go from wondering what you want to do next to knowing exactly what you want to do next.

  • Go from mindlessly sending out resumes hoping someone gives you an interview to meeting with people and having conversations that lead to job opportunities.

  • Go from feeling scared about making the wrong move to feeling excited about finding the right job.

  • Go from feeling discouraged about your situation to feeling empowered by following a step by step strategy to get the job you want.

What does the process look like?

  • You will fill out a Career Assessment Survey so that I can learn all about you, your challenges, goals, and what motivates you.

  • Our first session is the Foundation session where we will use your assessment to create your ideal job profile and identify the best career options for you and define how we will measure success along the way.

  • Each following session is tailored to your specific needs. We will address the personal challenges of your career journey as well as use practical tools and create tangible action steps to keep you moving forward.

  • You will have a better understanding of who you are, what you want, and what is holding you back so that you can more effectively navigate your career journey.

  • We will meet twice a month via phone or video conference.

  • You will have email access to me in between sessions and get a weekly accountability check-in via email.

  • Clients generally work with me for 3-6 months or more depending on what they need and where they are on their career journey.

This is for you if:

  • You are thinking about making a career change but are not sure about what you want to do next.

  • You know what you want to do but are not sure how to go about actually getting a job in that field.

  • You feel stuck, are afraid of making the wrong choice, or self-doubt is holding you back.

  • You have been on the job hunt for a while but are not seeing the results you want.

  • You are tired of trying to figure this out on your own.

  • You want support and accountability to move past your fears and limiting beliefs.

  • Your definition of success includes doing rewarding and meaningful work.

  • You know you have to do things differently to get a new result and you are committed to taking new actions.

What do my clients say?

"I wanted to work with someone who could help me devise a plan regarding how to take the next step in my career and would hold me accountable. Working with Mo enabled me to retake control of the job search process by coaching me to identify what was important to me in my next role, evaluate potential opportunities through that lens, and implement effective networking strategies. Mo also helped me overcome my own feelings of doubt and insecurity. I landed a great new job and the skills I learned, and way of thinking that Mo instilled in me, are ones that will help me in my career for years to come."

Alex W. | In-house counsel

"Mo helped me (a) take a step back and explore what really drives my interests and career; and (b) find the right fit in my next move. He helped me by encouraging me to take both a macro and micro view of my personal and professional drivers, getting me unstuck, positively reframing my views on the job search process, and holding me accountable in a productive way."

Ramit S. | Director of Start-up Programs

"Mo gave me the courage, confidence, and guidance to explore the future of my career. He helped me focus on what was most important to me, challenged me to reach out to mentors and strangers in order to gain the information I needed to make an educated decision, and he held me accountable for what I set out to do. I could rely on Mo to provide me with unsolicited, unbiased guidance. Equally as important, Mo, worked around my busy schedule and was willing to (and did!) jump on the phone when I needed to make timely and challenging decisions. It was a pleasure having the opportunity to partner with Mo as I embarked on my journey.”
